Your next computer may only be the size of your hand, A2-5900HX Mini PC experience

The computers in my ordinary impression are often equipped with huge chassis. Even the computer with ITX motherboard will still occupy some desktop space. However, in some scenarios where computers are used, the requirements for hardware performance are not very high, such as the media center in the living room, online classes for children, and daily office document processing. It is unnecessary to choose a computer with such a high configuration, or even a large chassis. Today's main character is the A2-5900HX mini PC. This is a computer as small as a palm, and the price is very cheap. What can such a mini computer  do? Now I'd like to share my starting experience with you.

Pc appearance

In fact, Series A is a series under EGSMTPC that is positioned to use AMD processors, providing a digital fashion brand with both personality and fashion. At present, EGSMTPC has many products, such as laptops, mini mainframes, tablets, etc., and will also enter the IoT ecological field in the future. The reason why this A2-5900HX is included in the main series may be due to its small and compact body and cheap price, which is very suitable for young user families as a media learning center.

The mainframe is pure silver, 0.8L mini size, about the size of the palm, square in appearance, and has an orange key on the front, which is very eye-catching and consistent with the color of the package. The front interface has two USB2.0 and switch keys.

There are more interfaces on the back of the fuselage, including power interface, 2 USB3.0 interfaces, 2 USB2.0 interfaces, 1 type-c interface,1 RJ45 Lan, 1 HDMI 2.0 interface, and 1 DP video output interface.

Seeing the A2-5900HX Mini PC, many people will definitely compare it with NUC. They have used AMD ryzen9 5900HX processor. They are indeed very similar in positioning. Whether they are used as online classes or placed in the living room as a media center, they can better integrate with the home environment.

Inside the fuselage

After seeing the outside, let's take apart the host to have a further look. Through the product description, we can learn that the A2-5900HX Mini PC, that is, the A2-5900HX uses AMD ryzen9 5900HX processor, 16G memory and 512G memory. Give away the four fixing screws on the back, and you can open the pc to see the interior.

Open the interior of the machine body, and you can see that the layout of the internal accessories is very neat and reasonable. The two-sided motherboard, memory and hard disk are on the outside, and the CPU is on the other side.

A 16GB DDR4 3200MHz notebook memory module is pre installed in the factory, and there is an empty slot beside it for expansion. The maximum memory support is 64G, so if you want to upgrade, you can choose two 16G memory modules to form a dual channel. Since the maximum memory frequency supported by the host is 2933MHz, the actual operating frequency will be 2933MHz after installing a 3200MHz memory module.

Single M 2 interface, supporting NVMe PCIe 3.0 SSD. The original machine comes with a Kingston 512G SSD, and the system is also inside. A metal chip is pressed on it to help heat dissipation. I plan to directly replace it with a 1T NVMe PCIe 3.0 SSD and reinstall the system in the next step.

Under the SSD, you can see that the network card is Intel AX200NGW with a good reputation. It supports WiFi6 and Bluetooth 5.0. Compared with WiFi5, it has the advantages of high bandwidth, low latency, low power consumption and high coverage.

A 2.5-inch SATA hard disk is reserved on the top, and you can choose to use mechanical hard disk or solid state disk to expand storage space.

So what the A2-5900HX Mini PC can expand is the dual DDR4 notebook memory module, M 2 interface NVMe PCIe 3.0 SSD and a 2.5 inch hard disk bit. On the whole, it can meet the needs of daily use.

Computer experience

So what can a computer the size of a palm do? Press the striking power button to turn on the machine.

The machine entered the pre-installed Win11 operating system and came to the desktop after a simple initialization configuration. This is the second time I have used the Win11 system (Khan, the first time I used the game console). The operation logic is not much different from Win10, but the start menu is adjusted to the middle, which is still relatively new.

The EGSMTPC Mini PC uses AMD ryzen9 5900HX processor, which has a base frequency of 3.3GHz, supports a maximum Remax frequency of 4.6GHz, and the TDP is only 45W. It is a low-power processor that is very suitable for this kind of mini pc.

The main purpose of this mini pc is to ensure heat dissipation, but fortunately, the power consumption of the cpu itself is not high, and there is enough heat dissipation space on both sides. In daily use, you can hear the sound of the fan running, and the body shell is kept at about 40 ℃.

In terms of display performance, AMD Radeon Graphics core display is built in. The graphics performance is relatively strong. You can play some large games, such as Cyberpunk 2077, with such a computer to give children online lessons. It is estimated that parents will be more relieved. However, I am quite satisfied that it supports 3-screen 4K output. You should know that both film and television resources and TV, monitors and projectors have bought the 4K era, and the price of 4K monitors is not expensive. Therefore, since it is positioning home audio and multimedia office, supporting 4K output can bring a very good use experience. Playing 4K movies with it will not lead to the situation of being stuck, so it is completely feasible to put it in the living room as a home multimedia center.

This A2-5900HX Mini PC has a small body and can be placed in various environments. Moreover, its expansion performance is quite good, and its price is also very cheap. It is very suitable for home media center, children's online classes, and even daily office use. Especially after expanding memory and hard disk storage, it has no problem running most daily software. It supports 3-screen 4K output, and also brings more usage scenarios. It is a mini PC with high appearance and practicability.
